More Information

I know I cannot upgrade to Core 2 Duo cpu's because of the limited FSB I have.

Dell dimension 9150
i945p
Pentium D 930
2gb DDR2 6400 ram
8800gt
seagate 7200.9

I have information that says its possible for intell i945p mobo to upgrade to Pentium Dual Core series CPU, The problem is that I am unsure if the dell bios A07 will allow this upgrade. Any information will be helpful.

Simply, no :) Dell mobo wont work even with the 21xx, blame dell. I've learnt my lesson[9150 too], new mobo,ram,21xx and case is the solution. Assuming that psu is up to the task.

I did alot of research into PSU's with this comp. Turns out these Dell 375 watts are at 85% efficient rating at 32amp and are under rated really push 450 watt with 2x 12 volt circuit. I found most hardware does not really pull what people think it does. We had wall socket meter from power company, you get them for free for two weeks at library here. anyway I pull 240-285 watt at full load tower only.

I have a 9150 and the cpu is fine for me... I got a 9600GT vid card and an extra 2GB of ram, a new 550W PSU (Corsair VX series works with the new ones) and I couldn't be happier. I'm getting Crysis on Very High, more than playable frame rate, on XP. Not too many people can brag about that :P

Harly, the Pentium Dual Core CPUs ARE Core2Duo CPUs. Perhaps the info you read referred to Pentium D CPUs instead? People get confused by the similar names.
