I am an e7200 fanboy. I love my e7200, see sig. At 3.8G it is giving me awesome numbers. ~17,000 3dmark06, 120fps cod4 max setting.

nothing i've done has pushed it. I must admit, i game mostly. I don't do much video and very little graphics. I do some photo editing and ripping/burning mp3s to CDs. I can burn a full music cd in minutes.

The phenom may hold the edge in multitasking, but i would put my money on the e7200 overall. It is a work horse.

How does that phenom OC? If it can hit 2.8G-3.0G with 3 cores, it would be tough to beat.

I heard you can take the E7200 to 3.16 GHz with 1333 FSB with the stock factory Heatsink and fan. I have E7200 on the way to my house now but I haven't tried it yet. Has anyone out there actually seen or done any over clocking on a E7200 with factory heatsink/fan that can vouch for this?

The E7200 overclocks well and is about 10% less performance than a similiarly clocked E8x00. Since the E8x00 is currently the best option for dual core applications that says a lot. $/perfomancewise it would be my choice for anyone on a budget.

The more cores the better, if you're multi-tasking that heavily. Get yourself a Q6600. If that's too expensive, I'd prefer the X3 to the dual-core. It really depends on what you do. If it's just for gaming, the dual-core is just fine too.

Ive overclocked many e7200s. All so far hit 3.4 and most 3.6 on stock cooler.

3.8-4.0 on aftermarket air.

The e7300 is comming on August 10th I heard. As well as the e5200. The 7300 has 10x multi while 5300 has 12.5 multi. e7300 $133 5300 $84.

Maybe they will b the new stepping E0 as test are showing the new E0 8600s are overclocking to 4.5 on air and 6 on extreme cooling.

^???. Why SupperPi? Sandra Multimedia/Arithmetic ; PCMark, 3DMark are better benchmarks. Prime95 is for stability testing not really benchmarking.

go with the e7200. If you feel the need to upgrade, you have a wide selection of chips. With the current AM2/AM2+ chipsets your choices are rather limited.

The 6400+ and 9850/9950 chips seem to be the only worth while chips and maybe the end of the line for the AM2 and the e7200 is a better performer than the 6400+

You tell me what I do.

E7200 will be better and if gaming is your main objective then get the E7200 plus when OC the X3 8450 cant even reach what E7200 can do.
