hi guys
i bought a Q6600 near the end of June
It was the first CPU i have ever OC'd so i didnt know jack

but now i have done it i know what matters and stuff

Do you guys know how to determine if the Q6600 is good or bad from the box itself?
The last one i got was VID 1.325 (Crap)
do they say the VID on the box?
and what is the best stepping for a Q6600 and the batch and stuff

please educate me on how to find hints from the retail box of the quality Q6600

You could find that stuff by searching google man.
What's going to happen when I die and can't look stuff up for you?
You need to learn to fend for yourself.

Spec number is SLACR
Stepping G0

I don't know any good batch numbers, sorry.

Check with the guys at XtremeSystems, they're usually all kinds of crazy over documenting good batches and such.

I heard that the OEM Q6600 has a lower VID then the retail. Not 100% sure though.

Best thing to do is troll some overclocking forums and see it any mention is made of certain lots.
Other than that it's the luck of the draw of the SLACR G0's.
