Hey all, I havn't upgraded since September of '06 so I figured it was time to. I do mostly gaming and I immensely enjoy overclocking so I'm building a system around that. Any helpful suggestions or comments are appreciated :). I'm reusing my case, HDD, and PSU to keep costs down as well.

Case:

Gigabyte 3D Aurora Full Tower

PSU:

PC Power & Cooling TURBO-COOL 850W

Mobo:

Asus Maximus Extreme LGA 775

RAM:

OCZ Platinum PC3-12800

Video:

2x Sapphire Radeon HD 3870 in Crossfire

Cooling:

Gigabyte 3D Galaxy II Liquid Cooling

2x Water blocks for the GPUs

HDD:

WD Raptor WD1500

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? I havn't decided on a CPUT yet, I'm torn between the E6850 or Yorkfield :/

1) DDR3 is a waste

2) Your gonna need a much better WC system. That WC is crappy, your going to have to make your own custom loop for that much hardware. Otherwise stick with air cooling. Good air cooling is better than crappy water cooling

Thanks for the input. I know I'm going to have to do a custom loop, but I figured the Galaxy II would be a good start because it was designed around my case, what about it makes it crappy?

Ahh alright. I think I'm going to scrap the water cooling for now and just use air. I have a Scythe Ninja sink that has worked excellently on my E6700@ 3.7 Ghz.

Any further suggestions? I figured I'd go ahead and spend a little bit extra on the DDR3 because the motherboard supports it and I have only read good things even though the performance boost is marginal.
