Cheap AMD Build:

GIGABYTE GA-MA69VM-S2 AM2 AMD 690V Micro ATX AMD Motherboard $65
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane 2.5GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core $85
A-DATA 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel $33 (after mail-in)
DIAMOND Viper 3850PE3512O Radeon HD 3850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 HDCP $180 (after mail-in)
Total ~$365

Will this stuff work OK together?

Already got a case & DVD burner. The PSU is a little smallish at 430W but it specs show 20A on the 12V rail so I'm hoping its enough.

What does the 3.3v rail say? If you insist on keeping your current psu use the gigabyte tool to monitor the voltages being put out. In general id watch this rig closely after setup. Other than that it can pass for a cheap AMD build

P.S. id advise you to prepare to invest in a cheap ocz, thermaltake or antec 550w psu if your system randomly craps out on you and its not heat related.

The 3.3V rail is 28A max and the 5V is 36A max. It is an Antec TruePower 430, around 4-5 yrs old.
