I am looking at these two PSUs, and I want to know which one is the better of the two. My instincts tell me the TP3. But then why is the Neopower listed for a higher price? Then again, after the sales, the TP3 costs more.

In the end, I just want the best PSU in the 650W and ~$100.00 range, Antec or not.

Researched this a little for you

Both are made by seasonic and ive posted some review below... made differences are :

Neo Power

Fully Sleeved cables
80mm fan
has PCI-e 6+2 and 6 connections

Trio

120mm fan
Partially sleeved
2x6 pin PCI-e

Personally i have 3 of the Trio's same size wattage and love them.... Although after reading Johnny Guru i tend to think that once these units are put under some extreme pressure they can crumble. The addition of sleeved cabling on the Neo is an added bonus and its cheaper.

IMO right now id go for the NEO

The Neo also uses modular cabling. Depending on your viewpoint that could be good or bad.

Newegg has the NeoPower Blue on sale for $100 right now. The biggest advantage of the blue over the regular NP is the 120mm fan (and the blingy bling blue LED, lol)

If you sign up for Newegg's e-newsletter you can use the $40 off code mentioned above, making the price $99.99, a good deal!

Hard OCP does great PSU reviews, go look and then buy a PSU from PCPower.

PC Power and Cooling is not the only good PSU brand on the market. While they are good, you can typically find PSUs that can do the job just as well and as long as theirs that is cheaper.

That;s contradictory if you think about it. Your telling him to go be a good consumer and shop around and then throw all that out the window. There is no doubt the PCP&C makes a great product, but like TSI said there are other units out there that will get the job done well for less.

Need suggestion in picking a Processor
By Pro Llama, 4 hours ago:

The i7 920 runs about $290 in US, so I'm guessing that you either are not in the US or need that $400 for more then just the cpu. So a PII 955 c3 is $160 on newegg.com, can get a good asus board for $110ish, and 4gb of ddr3 for $105ish. Total would be around $375. There are also boards in the $60 range that are good but dont have as many features. You can try an i5 setup, but it will push you past your $400 limit.
