(I know this is the wrong sub-section but can't see one for monitors :P)

Been thinking of building a general rig for gaming, word processing and watching films, but struggling on what LCD display to get to replace my 17" CRT and reclaim some desk back from it.

I was just wondering if 720p on a 22" is much inferior to 1080p on a 24" due to their small size compared to televisions?
Secondly, is there a 22" monitor with decent viewing angle so you don't need to sit right infront of the screen when watching films? Or is it a choice between a 24" PVA screen or 20" IPS (thinks thats the right acronym) when it comes to good viewing angles?

Finally do 8800 serise drivers have decent pixel mapping as I'm torn between these two screens:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/show [...] subcat=948
and
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/show [...] subcat=510

with the 24" loosing out so far due to the lack of 1:1 pixel mapping.

Thanks for any advice.

P.S sorry if it was worded a bit short and impolitely messed up the first time and found pressing "back" lost all my text ;)
