Removing U3 from a Vista OS

Hello, I have Vista system. Can I remove the U3 software from my laptop? I have a meadia player for my Honda Goldwing and it keeps hanging up on a track and won't respond to any coomands. The manufacture of the meadia player tells me I need to remove the U3 from the SANdisk thumb drive to fix this problem. Now I'm reading that it has already installed itself in my OS and that I can't repair it.
