Hello,
Can someone help me get an HP Pavilion DV4-1125nr laptop back up and running?

The hard drive crashed and I have replaced it. I don't have a recovery disk and HP can't supply one. I do have the serial number, the product number and Product Key.

The machine original came with Vista Home Premium. All I want to do is get it back to an out of the box state.

Can someone help?

Replacing the hard drive, you no longer have the MFG partition to restore to factory settings. You need a windows CD to install OS.

You can get a Windows Vista OEM CD off eBay as long as you use your own license key then it is all legal. Just make sure it's 32bit / 64bit and make sure it is an OEM disk. It can any level of Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate as they all come on the same disk. You'll have to find all the drivers your self which are all free from their respective manufacturers.
