More Information

So, I just got a new processor, a nice Athlon 64X2 6400, and I need to update the bios in my motherboard, an Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe. So, I downloaded the latest bios, and it turns out to be very difficult to update the bios here. The only utility is this DOS utility called AFLASH.EXE and it turns out that it can only be run from DOS, and so you have to create a boot disk, well my machine doesn't have a floppy drive. Ok. So I thought about it, and decided a workaround might be to use a dos bootable CD, so I downloaded an ISO and copied over the dos executable, and the bios file, and burned er up and booted.

So that was going all good, and I ran the AFLASH utility, and told it the name of the bios file, and it asked me if I wanted to save the current bios, but I couldn't because I was booted from a CD, so I just said no, and hoped for the best. Instead, it gave me a blinking error message, something about some file can't be found or something, I should have wrote it down but didn't, and it just dropped me back to a dos prompt.

All I want to do is update the bios, is there an easy way? What does this thing want from me?

Help!
