Im looking for a reducer that will allow me to attack a 120mm fan to a 92mm Fan

Does such a thing exist?

I was also thinking of lapping my Vigor Gaming Monsoon II Tec Heatsinc. Does any1 know if that is a bad idea with this type of cooler?

Do you mean attach the 120mm fan to a place that holds a 92mm fan, or do you mean attach it to the 92mm fan itself?

I want to attach the 120mm fan to a place that holds a 92mm fan. There will be no 92mm fan involved

If the hole is big enough, use zip ties.

For the adapter, have a look here.

Also, Scythe makes 100mm fans that have 92mm spaced holes. There are 3 at the bottom of this page.

Zip ties work well.

Baloon, that is exactly what i was looking for, thx a ton!

I also lapped my E6400, and let me tell u it took forever. Well over 2hrs. The CPU was very concave, after lapping my temps dropped 6c.

Your welcome! I hope it works well for you.

Interesting lapping results. I really want to lap my Q6600, but I'm a chicken LOL.

Yah I was a little scared too at first. But it really is the cheapest and easiest way to drop temps by as much as it does. All i did was grab an old picture frame, pop out the glass. Soak the 800 grit paper and then tape it to the glass. Then back and forthe 30 or so times, and turn 90deg, and go again. I would reccomend starting with a lower grit, say 400, then go to 600, then 800. And if u want a nice shine 1000+. But i would sctart low, if its as bad as mine you will be happy you did lol..

ocnewb,

Thanks for the lapping advice :). It is really tempting and it's becoming harder to resist LOL.
