Having read today several reviews of the 3870 X2 whereby it was claimed to be quicker than the GTX and putting forth some benchies to prove it, I came across this article comparing the two cards performance:-

which i thought made some interesting reading, not just the fact that 8800GTX beat the 3870 X2 in most games at high res, but the comments in the 'conclusions' regarding the state of benchmarking today. I will be interested to see how toms hardware recognises the 3870 X2 in their vga chart when they update as I am sure more cards are sold as a result of their benchmarks than anywhere else, if the enormous hits on the site are anything to go by.
