I am having a weird problem. Someone has built a nice pc for me. Quad 2.4 with 4 gb ram, gforce 8800gt, ASUS P5E LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel mother board, Antec P182 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer etc

Now it works great no problem under winxp 32. But everytime I hit the case slightly on the side or close the front cover it resets itselfs. I suspect motherboard or the case.

I know it is very vague but I do not know more than what I said. Also all the cabling seems fine.

first thing to check is the motherboard connections. It sounds like a connector might not be fully seated. If the connector has a locking tab, make sure the cable is locked in.

Also check under the motherboard for a loose screw, or unused stand-off, they could be shorting out the MB.

If you can't find the problem, get the builder to fix it.
