Hmm this place is all quiet on the up coming Q8200 tiz great to see this review.

But will the Q8200 take the Q6600's place? At 1.4vcore we can see the Q8200 hitting 3.5ghz stable presumably with less heat and likewise with 1.5vcore at 3.64ghz. Which seems to be almost the same voltage wise as the Q6600, however the Q6600 is within it's voltage regulations and the Q8200 i guess the STD 1.365 45nm vmax is well over it.

So its:

buy a q8200 for lower temps, but decreasing it's overall life span
or
buy a £50 cheaper Q6600 with more heat, without really decreasing it's lifespan?

That's a really nice overclock. Never been able to get mine beyond 3.1 for 100% gaming stability. And 3.3 max for boot-up. Done on a X48 Asus P5E Deluxe, with PC2-5300/PC2-6400 combo 4 x 2 GB, did your memory limited you or?

Will this be a good build to overclock 2500k to 5.0GHz?

I'm the one that told him that a Silver Arrow will get to 5Ghz, so I'll take the blame...
