Q9450 extra cache

Hi.

I’ve been told that one of the things that could speed up my work in Photoshop is a CPU with a lot of cache.

Isn’t the new Intel Q9450 perfect for me then? With a 50% increase of extra L2 cache compared to the Q6600 (12Mb instead of 8Mb) it looks perfect, or what do you think?

But, will I really notice the difference in my work flow (mostly 35Mb TIFF files with a lot of layers applied)?

My guess is when they talk about cache in Photoshop, they're not talking about the cache on the CPU. They're talking about having extra RAM. So get 4 to 8GB of RAM (with a 64 bit OS so you can use it), and you should be good to go with either processor.

I'm not a photoshop guy, but that's my $0.02.
