This will be my first pc build and I'm hoping you can give it a look over to see there's no incompatibilities or easily fixable bottlenecks, this has also pretty much maxed out by budget so I can't go to much over. I would like to put a good bang for buck gaming/media machine for my non-tech brother, no overclocking or anything too fancy. This is what has been suggested with some alterations by me. Will everything fit in together and am I forgetting anything?
Thanks in advance for your opinions.
Im going to suggest this MB/RAM combo: Gigabyte P-35 DS3R $128 and 2GB Corsair XMS DDr2 800 $75 The E6850 would be a good all-around choice but keep your eye open for the newer E8400. You could cut the cost of a good computer case in half - saving $50 - by getting the CM Centurion 5
The rest looks good. Found a review that gives good marks to that Enermax 535 PSU
According to the recommended Memory list for the above MB I would purchase the following Memory.
1066MHZ (come in 2 GIG sets, but you can run 4 gigs eventually)
Kingston KHX9200D2/1G
**As a side note, I don’t like Kingston Ram… but it is certified for this board.
If you keep the Motherboard you have choose some memory of this link...
http://www.evga.com/support/mbmem/ It is the certified memory list for that MB.
Ok so for sure I'm putting in the Gigabyte P-35 DS3R and I guess DDR2-1066 memory. The trouble is I can't find any of the recommended memory from the following list for sale apart from the ocz.
