I want to put an AMD 64 x2 5200+ Windsor F3 EE 65W L2=2x1024 on a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H mobo with an AMD 780G chipset.

Gigabyte lists the CPU as being OK with that mobo.

The RAM capacity of the mb is 4 DIMMs to max 16GB RAM. The mb accepts 1033 for the Phenoms.
I think the CPU works with up to DDR2-800.

I am planning to use the 5200+ for a year or two. But by 2009 maybe I'll replace it, on that mb, with a Phenom. So I would like to put in the best possible RAM that I can in terms of a future upgrade. I don't care if the RAM is being under-utilized right now, just so long as everything works right.

I'm also happy to put in either (1 piece) or (2 pieces) of 4GB now, i.e. for a total of either 4GB or 8GB now—so the 4 available DIMM slots would each have the right RAM for an eventual max of (4 x 4 =)16GB, if that ever happens. Then, if it does, I won't have to throw out today's RAM and start all over again.

Question: What IS the maximum RAM I can put in the mobo now, which will work with the 5200+?

Thank you.
