stability tests

hello all,
just some sort of a question with stability tests, do i need to run stability tests to a new build PC even running at stock speed or only if overclocking the hardwares?
If so, then what are the stability test softwares do i need to run to test my:
CPU
Motherboard
Memory
Graphics
Hard Disks
Btw, are there tests for DVD drives and PSU?^_^
