i am unable to format my hard disk..i have dual boot system and want to delete one of them..so i m trying to format local disk c..but its not working..this message appears >> windows was unable to complete the format..plz help...

If you are trying to do that in XP Disk Management, you could try partition wizard (free for home use), download here. Install, and run it. Partitioning software is pretty powerful, and some changes cannot be undone. Be sure you select the correct HDD to format, and maybe just run one partitioning operation at a time.
