I'm getting ready to build a new computer. My last setup used two 75gb rapors for RAID 0 and then weekly I created a mirror back up on an esata external drive. I'm not crazy about that setup as it seems to easy for something to go wrong. In any case, on this setup I was thinking about using two 150gb raptor drives and then using a 300gb raptor drive to use as my weekly backup. I use a program called Acronis which makes a copy of the drive of the C drive so that if it ever goes down, I can reboot using the backup drive and it should work perfectly. So does that sound like a decent setup?

1. I hope you are talking about Velociraptors. Keep in mind the new velociraptors are almost twice as fast as the old raptors.

2. are you using intel onboard raid? Why not just get 2 300GB velociraptors have a raid 400GB RAID 0 for programs and OS. And a 100 GB for your image backup or you can even do a 200GB RAID 0 and a 200GB RAID 1 using intel matrix raid.
