Another CPU Temp problem

idle temps are way too high. At load, it is throttling the cpu. I would reseat the heatsink and put new thermal paste (clean the old one off first).

So i checkes voltage its at 1.35 atleast thats what coretemp said. im reseating hs and reapplying thermal paste(arctic silver 5). Any tips on the heatsink reseat. ive been trying to reseat it for about 30 min but those dang clips are so frustrating. i dont know if thee isnt sufficient room behind my mobo for the clips or what. o how i loath these clips.

coretemp reports VID which is different from the actual operating voltage in most cases. use cpu-z and see what that says. if your acutally running 1.35v you should be able to turn that down quite a bit i would think. i have a q6600 that i can run under my VID at 3ghz.

ok ok ok sooo.... after about an hour of fiddling i got to stupid push pins to work. the problem was with my case the motherboard sits very close to the sheet of metal that it was bolted to. just loosened acouple screws and wha la. even though i thought i was going to snap my motherboard in half trying to get the last pins in. its running at a chilly 26c im so happy!! at load with prime 95 it runs at about 46c. o man so happy i stumbled upon the temp in bios one day just messin around checking things out i hadnt checked in a while. btw my voltage is 1.18 =) not 1.35. thnx again.

Socket 775 push pins are a PITA, good job on getting it right.
I once had hi temps on my first &&% during it's build, I was using a celeron to flash it, and the temps went to something like 72c. That's when I found I had not set the push pins correctly. As you, my temps went way down after I fixed it.
