Case Fan Problem

I have a Gigabyte 3D mercury case and when I turn the computer on, the case fans on the back would not start turning until I give them a push. Everthing in the built is working nicely now except for the fans. Is the problem in the fan itself or something more? Thank you for your help.

Is it hooked up to the mobo? Maybe the mobo is controlling the fan speed?

It's probably a bad fan if you have to give it a push to get it going.

Try cleaning it out with some compressed air and maybe lubing it up (lol!) with some WD-40 or something similar. You can also try another fan or hook another fan up to where the current fan is malfunctioning. See if it does the same thing. My money is on a failing fan motor and / or dirty fan.

It's hooked up to the mobo. It was working fine a few days ago. I'll try to lube it up. Thanks.

If it is plugged in to a molex and doesn't start it is probably dead or will be very soon.

Disable fan controls in bios & max 'em out.
