Hello, I have a question regarding pci-express 2.0 and the newer graphic cards.
I use an E8400 on a P35-DS4 motherboard which obviously don't have pci-e 2.0 and I was wondering if there's a big loss in performance with a HD 3870X2 compared to a newer motherboard that does have 2.0.
I've looked at a few tests and usually the 3870X2 seems to perform well, however I've seen a few where it got really low scores and as far as I've seen that has been with motherboard without pci-e 2.0.
So does anyone know exactly (well, maybe not exactly) how much performance you win by having it and if it is even a "necessity".

I'm also wondering if it's important for other new cards like 8800GT/GTS.

Thanks
