Board that supports Q6600 and Nehalem?

Which motherboards support Q6600 and incoming Nehalem processors? Or do you have to make a switch from boards that support Q6600, to boards that will support Nehalem (I'm particularly interested in 8core version)?

I'm betting it's not going to happen. The integrated memory controller and lack of FSB should make even the multi-socket solutions that Asrock and other MB manufactures use impossible. We shall see.

It's going to take a little while for the 8 core CPUs with the IMC to be available for the masses, get the Q6600 and enjoy it for a while. Unless you have +1K for the new chip when it's available. Additionally, I don't think I would be all that excited to jump on the debugging bandwagon. Bide your time and let them debug it and the price to come down, it's not like you will be slumming it with a Q6600.

Quick question, just exactly how are the going to use a daughter board to integrate a CPU with an IMC onto a mobo with a northbridge? Not very likely.

You really shouldn't get a q6600 anymore, the new 45nm quads should be out in the next two weeks. They shouldn't be too hard to get as long as you check new egg every hour for the next month :)

What about these 45nm quads, on what boards do they run and are they compatible with Nehalem?

Nehalem is a CPU so obviously a cpu isn't compatible with another CPU which uses a different socket.

They are just updated quad cores. Wait for nehalem if you want but tbh if you are there is no point being here asking questions because most of the answers will have changed by the time it comes out.

I really wouldnt reccomend waiting for the next gen. With a 3.5ghz+ quad you really cannot go wrong.
