I have a 7950GT KO from EVGA and it runs VERY hot. It can run as hot as 118 C. I have RMAed it and gotten a new graphics card. I have also tried a different powersupply as well as several different drivers. I have no idea what to do anymore except a new motherboard, but could it be anything else? I can't return this motherboard anymore either because it's past the 1 year RMA. Any suggestions?

I doubt that your motherboard or PSU is causing your GPU to reach those temps. Either somethings up with the stock cooling or you need better ventilation in your case. I might even suggest an aftermarket cooler as well.

I had a box fan, about 24 inch one, with the side of my case off and I could only get the temp to go down to 64 C. with my computer doing nothing but idling. The reason I ruled out a aftermarket cooler is because this graphics card did run fine for a while, and I even got a brand new shipped to me.

Yeah... Also it might be a good idea to reset the HSF, and reapply some new thermal paste. I've heard of instances where the thermal paste has dried up especially ones that have been sitting on the shelf for awhile, maybe like the one you got through the RMA.

Yeah I've seen that many times pchol04. I brought all of my temps down by 10-15c using some Arctic Silver 5. Worked dreams on my 680i mofset.
