BFG 8800GTS 512 Help

So my old x800xl died, and I got BFG 8800GTS 512 mb. The card runs CoD 4 great without a problem with 50+fps. But games like STALKER, FEAR, and GRAW 2 run similar my x800xl why is that, I know my 3700 2.4ghz is a bottleneck but the frames improved very little. I have the new beta drivers. Any thoughts.

PS:I am getting a new CPU later on.

Your system seems old, so I'll assume your PSU is old too. It seems like you're fine, but upgrading your cpu or something may be too much for your current PSU.

I don't know but i brought it just for the 8800GTS. Is the problem my cpu or something else? I just want to know that.

I'd say that as long as your PSU has enough amps on the +12V rails, it's probably your cpu.

Yeah I have a GTS and although I don't know how many frames I'm getting in GRAW2 I can definitely say that runs a hell of a lot smoother than my 7950GT at all resolutions from 1280x1024 to 1920x1200.
