hey guys i just overclocked my computer from 2.6 GHz to 3.392 GHz with air cooling and was wondering wat the average overclocking potential of this processor is and is this overclocking job a good one. here are the specs and yes it is stable.


Cpu: E4700 running at 3.392 GHz at 1.3 V
Mobo: MSI 975X Platinum
Ram: Cosair CM2X1024 - 6400 C4 (2 x 1 gig)
GPU: Foxconn 7950
Cooling: Thermaltake Golden Orb II

Muliti : 13
Bus speed : 260Mz
Rated FSB : 1043.8
DRAM Frequency: 291.4MHz
FSB: Ram - 2:3

Yes, a good o/c. Your bottleneck is most likely heat.

i dont think its the heat. whenever i run orthos it'll run for a bit but the it'll stop cuase of an error and it only happens during CPU stress test and the temp doesnt exceed 42

I have mine oc'd very nice. It is cooled on air. Heat for me is not a problem, too bad anyways 62c load 39c idle. I have also found that having a 1:1 ratio is the best. My rig is running very stable 24/7.

4gb OCZ platinum dual channel pc2-6400
Dram : 287/575 Timings 3-4-3-8-10 Ratio 1:1
FSB : 287mhz
Rated FSB : 1150mhz
Multiplier : 12x, (13x is standard)
Vcore : 1.488
MOBO : MSI p-7n Sli Fi


Video 2x 9500 gt's in 8x Sli
Overclocked from 550 core to 620, shader @ 1500, and memory clock @ 525
