Hi there,

I send an email to Corsair about the following product (TX750W):

http://www.corsairmemory.com/products/tx.aspx

It has all the connectors that I need (8 Molex, SATA, Floppy, etc). BUT this power supply meet the ATX rev. 2.2 and older 2.01 specs.

But my motherboard (Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe) has connector rev. 1.3 (mentioned by Corsair).

Conclusion: the TX750W is incompatible with my motherboard.

Are the specs backward compatible (rev 2.2 and 2.01 compatible with rev 1.3) ?

So, any suggestions of power supply compatible with my motherboard (rev. 1.3) ?

I need 8 molex connectors (2 hard drives ATA, 1 DVDRW ATA, 1 DVD ATA, 1 AGP card 7800 GS and 3 fans 120 mm), 2 SATA, 1 floppy.

Thanks to all of you

What are you missing? The PSU appears to be ATX 20 pin compatible. It should work no problem. Why is it supposed to be incompatible, with that mobo?

Corsair answered me that my motherboard has atx 12v rev 1.3 and the PSU TX750W support atx 12v 2.01 and 2.2. So it is incompatible with my motherboard =(

Ok, something doesn't make sense here. I think the only difference is the 20 pin is changed to a 24 pin connector. They state on the link that you provided that the 24 pin connector is 20 pin compatible. Additionally, you can get a 24 pin to 20 pin adapter.

Assuming the TX-750 doesn't have the ATX 24 pin plug with the last 4 pins removable, which might be the case then use this ATX 24-pin to 20-pin Adapter Cable. It appears that they are out of stock, but you get the idea. I can't think of any other reason it won't work.

I'm actually reading about ATX REV 1.3, 2.0 and 2.2.
The difference is the voltage more or less used on the rails.
And this answer was given by Corsair, not me. So actually I'm reading a lot (and trying to understand) about the difference

There is a 6 pin AUX connector on 1.3, but I don't think your mobo has one. You can check and see before you buy it, but I didn't see it in the mobo manual. I do remember one that needed the AUX connection, it was, and is, using Rambus RAM. I completely forgot about that connector, but it shouldn't be a problem.

Finally I take chance and order the Corsair model TX650W. I got a good price at NCIX. And if it's not working I will sell this thing...a good price =)
