mostly for gaming @1440x900. Not planning to OC my system.
Question is how far p35 mobo boost my system, is it worth the cost?

Newegg has two AB9 mobos now. Only one supports quads. Which one have you picked? I'd recommend a GA-P35-DS3R instead, or GA-P35-DS4. The DS4 costs more but adds Firewire, eSATA, and a second video card slot.

Replace the PSU with a 550VX from www.buy.com. It's cheaper at $68 and more powerful (41A single rail vs 18A+18A). The Bluestorm is very good but you're asking too much of it IMO.

Good choice of video card. The Gigabyte version of the 8800GT has a decent cooler.

Have you picked a case? P182 is sold at a very nice price at zipzoomfly these days.

uh, the chipset won't boost much of anything, unless you start overclocking to the limit of the northbridge. just stick with your current motherboard if not OCing
