Hi guys,

I very much like the idea of getting myself a dual quad-core setup however it seems the option to do so is to wait for Intel skulltrail. However I really dislike skulltrail for its server/workstation-oriented design, plus the FB-DIMM, PCIe 1.0, too many PCIe 16x slots etc (I only need 2-3, rather have an extra standard PCI for my other peripherals).

I was wondering if anyone reckons we're going to be seeing dual processor LGA775 motherboards or at least dual LGA771 motherboards without this whole FB-DIMM, PCIe 1.0 stuff?... or do those features have to come with the LGA771 package?

I'd like to apologize beforehand for any dumb statements I've made, I'm very much a beginner(/sub-intermediate!) level fella.

You can get server boards but I'm afraid they all come with Dual LGA771 and FB-DIMM

No sli/crossfire either.

PCI-E2 though. At £250 it isn't that bad in price either. Slap a couple of quad 45nm xeons in it and you are set :)
