Almost a new build / advice needed

Am changing a lot of my system;
currently have

Coolermaster stacker
850w power supply
500gig hard drives (12mb cache -cant remember details)
8800 gtx 756 mb graphics card

and the usuall;;;;;;;;;;;;;






Need some suggestions

was thinking

8800GTX ---------to add to other card in an sli setup.
INTEL IX38 MOTHERBOARD
XFI SOUNDCARD (not the pro version )
2GB TWIN XMS3 DDR3 MEMORY
QUAD CORE Q9550
AKASA MULTIFUNCTION PANEL
*COOLING -NOT SURE


Can anyone think of any faults in this round up or anything to make it better.

I mostly play fps and simulations but its my 40th soon and want to spend on my system.

how do you plan on running SLI on an X38 board exactly? You'll need an nvidia chipset.

If your looking for a bit of a powerhouse look at the 3870X2, it should be stocked soon.

Your only option is 780i if you need SLI. EVGA/ASUS both have such boards.

Is it going to be overclocked?

^Agreed you need an nVidia chipset to run SLI. Imo, SLI is not worth it unless you plan to run games on a huge monitor with every setting at max.

HAVE A GREAT MONITOR WANT EVERYHTING AT TOP RES SO WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST.

for 780i SLi:

Asus P5N-T or EVGA 780i

for X38 Crossfire:

ASUS P5E

They all do DDR2 - cheap, & dual cards. The best overclocker would be the P5E. Just keep upgrading to a more powerful single card.
