Hello, All,

Have Gateway 7024, quad core 6600, GeForce 8800gt, my week link now is memory. I have 4- 1 gig 667 sticks, ddr2.

I am considering:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820220299

or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820231166

I am not very familiar with configuration of memory, any help will be welcome. Not really a gamer but into hi 2d and 3d rendering. What would be my best choice? I'm willing to pay more for a better choice available.

I'm interested in one 2x2gb dual because in the future I hope to go to vista 64 and fill the other 2 slots. I realize that my 32 bit vista will only find 3.2 gigs. Is there any advantage in 32 bit to go for 4 slots, i.e. 2 dual 1gb vs. 1 dual 2gb? Any help will be appreciated, and maybe my choices of memory are completely off track! Also, I'm not interested in trying to overclock.

Thanks!

Joe

Well, since DDR2-667 is the correct speed for a 1:1 ratio with a 1333MHz FSB, your current RAM should be fine.
