i realize there are some sensor discrepancies with these chips.

However i was wondering what temperatures everyone was getting.

Im runnin e8400 with ninja scythe cooler oc to 3.6ghz, with cpu z showing 1.15v.

under load my temps are
core 1 56
core 2 49

idle
core 1 50
core 2 45

are these decent temperatures?
should i reinstall the heat sink?
or what advice do you have to offer?

this is my first build btw.

Those are pretty cool temps. Try CoreTemp for more accurate readings. Screen shots pls.?

as well id like to mention my clock speed jumps around a bit from
3610-3599 is that considered stable or should i increase the voltage a tad?

Seems alot hot for a e8400 wit hlow vcore. I would defeinately reseat, maybe even get a aftermarket cooler. BTW what mobo are you running? I just downloaded new bios for mine and got 10c cooler and less voltage than I had before.

im running after market cooler, the ninja scythe. Neo 2 fr. I dont know where to get a bios update their site is ultra-non user friendly.

Way to hot with that cooler. Definately reseat. To much paste is just as bad as not enough paste. I folowed directions before and got to much or not enough. Put a small dab on and smear a thin layer with a drivers license or credit card.

You should beable to hit 4.0 with lower temps when installed correctly.

Hey, download their MSI Live update ... It will compare your drivers and bios versions with the online ones and download the latest. BIOS flashing inside windows is available also.
