    hi, not it does not.
  5. Reseat the drive then, if that does not work, need to try a new drive. If it does not show up in the BIOS, it's not a Windows issue.
  6. how do i reseat the drive? is it in the device manager?
  7. i'm not sure how to reseat the driver?

Take it out of the laptop, slide it back in. Should be a screw or a slider to unlock it so you can pull it out.
  9. Looks somewhat like this or read the manual.

    hi,
i re-seated the driver and my laptop still shows the dvd driver is missing/unable to read. anything else i can try?
  11. Can try to reset the BIOS to factory defaults, may pick it up then. If that does not work, may need to get a new drive to try, or it could be the internal connector.
