Dvd drive is stuck on cd type

I have a lite on dvd burner. It was working fine for awhile and now I can't burn dvds on it, it keeps telling me to insert a blank dvd. When I go to the properties, it is listed as a cd rom and not dvd. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it with no success. I also tried unplugging the dvd burner and plugging it back in with no luck.

Any ideas?

ya I already did that, but it is still saying cd rom in the properties.

Don't bother with this kind of information as they are incorrect (blank dvd are in raw format so they don't get you any kind of Info).
Try check your blank dvd with an info tool for that purpose.
