Need help with e6300

Hi i recently build my new gaming rig and i would like to overclock. My motherboard is asus p5n 780i deluxe by the way. I tried to overclock it using asus in windows cpu overclocking tools it has speeds and voltages. Right now its at 266*7=1.86 ghz but if i try to overclock it it says it needs to restart and when it does the motherboard starts to beep and i have to unplug power to power on my pc. help me out, thanks in advance
