Hey everyone, i have a SATA II HDD which is currently running on SATA I on my old motherboard. I have a new system but want to make use of the SATA II but i need to know:
If I take the jumper out without transfering the data, will I lose my data due to HDD modification?
Or is it as simple as taking the jumper out and everything running normally...no worries about losing data??
Thanks

There is no SATA II standard, all manufacturers use it for is to specify a higher rated transfer speed (of course they really need to put a * and point out that most hard drives won't ever reach that transfer rate).

Makes me wonder if some attorney out there will will file a class action similar to the capacity one a while back...
