Your thoughts on my build please!

How does this look to you guys? I have the budget to go bigger, but after reading the forums this is what I came up with to get the best bang-for-the-buck right now. Your input is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

ASUS Maximus Extreme requiresDDR3. You will have to go with Maximus Formula to use the Corsair DDR2 PC6400 RAM you have listed.
  2. oops, Ok Thanks!
  3. Ok, I corrected the MB and changed the memory, anything else i'm missing as far as compatibility goes?

  4. Be warned that as of today there are no drivers for the 3870X2s that support Crossfire. Even then the x38 will not support Crossfire. Imo, unless you plan to play at very high resolutions on a 30" Crossfire/SLI is quite useless.
  5. Crucial has proven to work well with the MB. Some users have posted problems with Corsair XMS on the product page. A lot of the problems are user error though. I think I owned one Htachi HD and returned it after it failed to format. I built with Antec 900 a couple of days ago. Nice cooling solution.
  6. Thanks for the reply's,

    Shadow,

I'm trying to drive a 37" Westinghouse monitor, hence the need/want for 3870's in CF. The X38 wont support Crossfire?...that's not what the ASUS site says?!? of course it's totally possible that I am confused about this.

    Badge,

What 1TB HD would you recommend?
