Hello all,

I'm wondering if im having problem with my new card. It's Gigabyte TurboForce Edition with revised Zalman Heatsink

My Vista is freshly installed and the current Forceware is 169.09..

PSU - Cooler Master 450 Real Power
CPU - Core 2 Duo E6550
MEM - 2 GB DDR2

From below screen shot, how come in CPUZ my GPU Clock and Memory is 0Mhz ? Is that normal ?

Is 10k the average result i should get with my current gig ?

Now below is really weird. How come NTune detect my card gpu core as 450 when it should be 700.

Should i change my card or everything is normal ?

Thanking in advance for all your opinion and help. :)

Ntune is worthless. Get ATITool and RivaTuner. And your 3DMark06 is right about where it should be. Your 47C temps are fine too.

It's working right, no worries.

Hi,

Thought this would be the right thread for it.

I bought a Gigabyte 8800 GT and it appears that it having problems with some item in my system.

CPU: Q6600 @ 2.4GHz with 9700CNPS LED
RAM: Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800, 5-5-5-12
MB: Gigabyte P35C-DS3R F6 Bios
PSU: Cooler Master Real Power M700
Case: CM 690 with 3 120 fans(1x Exhaust, 1x Side Panel, 1x Front)
Windows XP SP2
169.21 Drivers

The entire system behaves well during normal 2-D operations but once I put any graphics load (playing Quake 3, Warfront, ntune stability test, Call of Duty 2) the screen goes blank and video signal is lost. PC then needs to be switched off

I heard there were problems with the memory running at it's overclocked speed from folks over at hardtech forums.

So I down clocked it using Rivatuner with the GPU at 600 gpu and memory at 800 memory but the problem persists. The fan speed is set to 100% and the idle temps are about 60C (ambient temperature is high). I don't know what the load temps are like because it shuts down before that happens.

I've tried the card in another computer and it works for Warfront, QWET as long as the memory is below 900. I thought that the PCI-E slot might be damaged but my old 6600 GT runs on it just fine. Going to test with an 384 8800 GTS just to make sure.

Any thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I've got the same problem. Everything used to be fine, and now I get the same thing as you in GPU-Z (0mhz) and in rivatuner its 399/810/499 (XFX 8800gt). it wont even let me overclock anymore.

Sounds like both of you have a lack of power issue going on, it's amps not watts that you need.

I thought that my be the case but it ran in a rig with an Aopen power supply that has 15A on the 12V rails. If it's under powered then the psu could be faulty. I'll swap that out and have a look. I suspect that or the pci express plot.

Just FYI, I would take any output from GPU-Z with a grain of salt. It can be nifty but in the majority of systems I have tried it in *something* is listed wrong... even in 0.16.

I have the same problem with the same video card Gigabyte 8800gt Turbo Force. I noticed the problem in cod2 in xp the game hangs up random but much more when we play on snowy map. I do everything what i can do.. format c: , all the drivers i try to down clock but nothing happen. i i sold my 450 chieftec PSU for a HCK 550 (31A on 12Rails) and nothing happen.. But i can play cod2 in vista 64 bit ultimate and my system doesnt hangs up. So i think is a software problem but i really dont know which one!

Those clock speeds are made by power saving function.
Try to switch it off in Gigabytes overclocking utility.

Check the review @ Bjorn3d http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=1233

Maybe it's because of the previous drivers?! Use Driver Cleaner Pro to remove older drivers.

Your PSU is quite alright, i doubt that it's the problem(but i've never heard of HKC)!

Hope this helps.
