Handy reference; but the statement "Vestigial sideband modulation (VSB),
developed by Zenith, has been the target of much debate about
performance since the adoption of the ATSC standard in 1996." is
troubling. It has appeared numerous times in print. Actually, vestigial
sideband modulation was developed years ago, about the 40's, and used
from the beginning of television broadcasting. Today, NTSC analog uses
VSB modulation. I do not see how Zenith can lay claim to inventing
vestigial sideband modulation unless they originally developed it back
in the early days of B&W TV.
