Hello every one.
I'm planning to buy a new DVD drive and I'd like you to share your experience with me and point me to a durable heavy-duty drive.
In my country the following vendors are available: ASUS, LG and Lite-on.
What do you recommend?

I've had allot of luck with Plextor. They are a bit more expensive but far fewer coasters and my Plextor under heavy load (about 40-50 burns a week) lasted for 5 years. I've also used alot of Lite-on drives. My oldest, a DVD - CD/RW is still running after 7 years. It rips about 1-2 discs a day and burns 5-10 CDs a week. It does kick out some coasters now and again but it's also quite old.

My two newest drives are both Lite-on and I'm very pleased with them. I plan to pick up an Lite-on BlueRay in a couple weeks.

I just bought a High Rated Lite-On and a Perfect Rated Asus :bounce: .

The Lite-On is not that great and I have recieved 2 out of 5 Coasters already. Luckily they were on RW's. The Asus however, is amazing. I reccommend the Asus for sure.

Can ASUS hold up against watching DVDs on my PC?
I have a non-lightscribe model but it seems to have a sloo access time. Do you recommend specific ASUS model ?
