Does anyone know if there is a manufacturer that will make a 790i board with ddr2?
I like the native pcie 2.0 with enhanced SLI but DDR3 does not seem to be worth the cash.
DDR3 is 4 times more expensive and benchmarks show only a few % performance gain with current hardware.
I want 8gb RAM with vista 64 (no paging file) but I read the X38 does not OC well with 4 sticks.
Can anyone give me some advice?

I don't think anybody really knows if there will be any 790i boards with DDR2. However at this point it doesn't look like anybody is going to have anything but DDR3 on those boards, ya never know though.

Tnx T8RR8R.
In that case I'll wait and see till the end of this month.
If I can find cheaper DDR3 or else I'll get a X48 DDR2 with ATI cards.

If you don't mind me asking, why X48 over X38?

I read a positive article about the Asus rampage.
I figured for almost the same cash it seems better to get the newest product.

It seems the 790i is not bad, quite good actually in SLI.
