Hi All
I Have put a Zalman 9700 cooler on my Quad core pc. No matter how much i tighten the screws on the fixing clamp.
I can twist the fan slightly. Is this normal or should it be unmovable

Hello:
I have used several of those 9700 coolers and you can move the cooler slightly, because that clamp is only a spring type clamp. Don't worry about that. The thing you want to watch is different core temps with a program like Core Temp. I had a problem with the weight of the fan sagging slightly and two of the cores were a little bit warmer than the other cores. Not much you can do about it, I did end up using a thin long wire tie between the cooler to the case to hold up the weight and it seemed to help.

Yeah... Dont worry about a thing. I have one myself and even after you get it on there you want to twist left to right JUST SLIGHTLY to make sure any air bubbles get out. But yes... Even though it is tight you will be able to move it and twist it and it wont be going anywhere ones you set it.
