If i make PC HD into external one, can it connect to mac laptop?

my friend has a PC hard disk and i believe its fat32. and he wants me to transfer files to his mac labtop through some websites but its a pain in the ass. so i was thinking if i convert the HD to an external one and then hell be able to connect it to his mac laptop? is this possible? if so then anything i need to know? thanks.

If it is FAT32, you should be ab;e to put in the appropriate (IDE or SATA) external USB case and move it from computer to computer.
