hi!
I want to compare my ram speed to those with better ram modules or even with DDR3 memmory :)
So, if you have a few mins. take a benchmark of your RAM and post results here; thanks in advance :)
here is two benches of my memmory with different timings; The memmory is preOC to 893Mhz

As I see there is not much difference what timings you have :(
I realy wanna see how fast is DDR3 or DDR2-1066, and is there any point spending money for extreme RAM.

P.S. I bought this memmory for £59 (4x1GB) wich is prety cheap.

Now a days, processors have large cache to eliminate bottlenecks with slower memory. Therefore you generally won't see a substantial difference in performance from cheap to very expensive memory.

In respect to tighter timings, you won't notice much higher performance in games and other intensive programs, buut what you will notice is that your system will be snapier! Meaning there will be less time to initiate programs. But once the program loads up, you won't notice that much of a difference.

I love a snappy system, so love low timings.

First off, don't worry about DDR3 ram. You can't use it in your computer.

Second, DDR2-1066 is usually just overclocked regular ram with the voltage raised to support it. You can do the same by using the same settings in the BIOS. I normally just buy some good quality ram and overclock it myself.

I know that I cant use DDR3 ! Just wandering if DDR3 reaches speeds of my OC memory ? I've googled around and I was unable to find DDR3 doing more that 9GB/s which makes it slower that OCed DDR2 !

P.S.
anyone, please post some mem benches.
