Hello, any ideas why my burner no longer recognizes blank dvds

Some Thoughts.
drive settings have changed and need to be reset, or Windows cd burning is disabled.

to remedy:
- disable the drive, and reenable it (in device manager)
- reboot
- open your services (click start\run\, type in services.msc
press enter, or click ok.

look in the list of services for IMAPI CD-Burning COM Services. Check that it is set to manual, and not disabled. If so, change to manual.

Sometimes the brand of cd may be a problem. Do these blank cd's work on another computer?

Does it see any other DVDs, movies, programs, etc...?
