Say you have $4000 to blow on a high end gaming rig. You already have a sweet 24" monitor, and all the peripherals you could ask for. So you're just building out the tower.

Post your complete spec and let's all see the components that people like best.

Mine only comes to $2300. I plan to overclock so I dont need a extreme cpu. And I dont have any use for more then one GPU. Oh and forget the 24" monitor mine is gonna be a 42" LCD for day and a 10' Projector for night with touch screen on both.

There isn't a tower that I would spend $4000 on, it's just not worth it. I think low $2000s is the sweet spot for a godly gaming rig, any higher and you're just not getting great performance gain for the money.

Take the other $2k and buy a 30"+ Monitor/TV.

Probably this:

I'd spend the rest on more vacuum tubes though.

With the release of the 9 series vid cards approaching in FEB, I don’t think I would build anything right now.

-I can guarantee it would contain two 8800GTX or whatever is the top card when the 9000’s are released.

-Maybe some PC3-15000 (1866MHz) …Looks interesting.

Hoplite, you're killin' me man. I"m scrougin' to do an $800 build and you want to drop 4 grand. Tell ya' what, we wait on the video cards , I'll put a whoop butt list together for $2500 and you send me a $500 so I can update to an E8400 instead of a 2160 and finish this off right. Then you still get to pocket $1000 (LOL)
