Hi Everyone,

I'm somewhat of a newbie when it comes to computer hardware and I'm hoping you can help me.

I'd like to get a 8800GT but am worried there may be an issue with my current setup. Can you tell me if I can get this card or if there will be any issues?

E6600
P5B Deluxe Motherboard
550W Power supply
2 GB Ram
Windows 64bit
X1800XT 256MB graphics card

Do you know if I'll also have to do a complete reinstall of the OS or just swap the cards and I should be ok?

Thanks

Also, if this is OK, do you recommend one brand of 8800GT over another? I was thinking of going EVGA.

Nope, shouldn't be any issues. What specific PSU is that 550watter?

As far as installation, remove the drivers for your X1800, maybe run driver cleaner, remove the X1800, replace with the 8800 and then install the 8800GT drivers. OS reinstall not required.

EVGA is a good company and recommended by quite a few people here.
