Let me know what you think I might think about CPU change for Q6600 or wait for Q9450

Wow, talk about old hardware...

J/K :D

The Q6600 is good. I'd go for it (G0 revision - otherwise known as SLACR) and overclock it.

Change PSU's as well. CoolerMaster does not have a great reputation for releasing quality PSU's. Also, unless you're going to SLI, you only need ~500W from a decent PSU. I recommend you check out this list: http://www.tomswiki.com/page/Tiere [...] ngs?t=anon and pick something from Tier 2 or higher. :)

Do not going with that GPU. That's the old G80 version of the GTS. The new G92 8800GTS 512MB is faster, and better at higher resolutions. It also consumes less power and is actually cheaper than the older GTS's depending where you buy it at. (The amount of memory on the card is not always the most important thing - Trust me here.) Basically the new G92 8800GTS 512 is far superior in every way to the older 320/640 versions.

Vista 64 bit. I see you're only going with 2GB of RAM. If you have a copy of XP, then I'd recommend just staying with that for a little while longer while 64 bit Vista drivers mature a little bit.

I generally agree with rgeist, but if you don't do a lot of video editing, photoshop work, or encoding, the Q6600 is not really necessary, at least for a year or so.  E8400 would be best for gaming and general use, especially if you overclockit a bit, even on stock voltages.  You can always buy a quad in a year or so for cheap when stuff takes advantage of it.

Get a corsair PSU, 620HX is great, just got one and lovin it.

Corsair memory is usually pretty good, take a look at crucial too.  Highest quality and usually a little cheaper!

Get an EVGA 8800GTS 512mb as was suggested above.

If you're not getting 4GB of memory, don't bother with 64bit vista.  I have it and love it, but I also have 4gb of memory to feed it.

Good luck, enjoy it!

and the Video card to 8800 GTS 512MB 16X PCI Express EVGA
I plan on getting the Ram upto 4GB as well and am also adding some SATA optical drives

My price for all of this stands at $1475.00 USD

If you get vista, get home premium at least.  Aero is way cool! :)
Other than that, looks good.

Final thoughts on my build are welcome.  Keep in mind I use my system mainly for RTS games like C&C 3, also surf the net and use office applications. I am not much of a multitasker.  Very little DVD burning/encoding or Photoshop stuff.  Also I have never overclocked before, but might consider it with this rig.
