The main problem here is that I have 6 drives, 2 of them being 15K rpm. Thus, I think that I need good cooling. I'm cosidering P182, Cosmos 1000 and LIAN LI PC-V1200Bplus II. But according to some reviews, they all have big flaws: P182's lower chamber is too small; Cosmos 1000 has no cooling for hard drives; LIAN LI PC-V1200Bplus II is too loud.
Any comments, other suggestions for a good, quiet case?
Thank you

I can't find any hang ups with the design. I admit, there are many MID tower cases with a better design, but for a full tower, I think the A+ is great. It's roomy with good airflow and nice and cool. I am curious what you don't like about the design. With all of those HD units I would definitely go with a full tower. Good deal on the Vid btw
I had a Thermaltake Armor holding 9 drives at one point, it worked very well. The stock case has 3 3.5" bays internal up near the power supply, and then 9 5.25" bays in the front.
The stock case comes with one iCage, that converts 3 of the front 5.25" bays to 3 3.5" bays with a 120mm fan in front. The case can take up to 2 more iCages, giving you 9 3.5" bays in front, all behind 120mm fans.
When I had the unit fully populated with 9 drives (8 in front, 1 in the internal cage near the power supply), it was still remarkably quiet.
By the way, this is drive/bay configuration in the regular Armor case or Armor Extreme case, not the Armor Plus. The Armor Plus has a different internal configuration that is denser (more drives), but I don't think the cooling is as good.

I have 4 hard drives mounted at the front of the case (3 put in the provided cage) and 1 in the 3,5 inch cage that came with the case. I put in a second fan right above the stock one (mounted at the front of the case).
The other 3 drives are in the cage at the back of the case, right next to the power supply. There's a 80mm fan behind them, that does a pretty good job of pulling the hot air out, and keeping them in the 33-35 degree range.
Why is the lower chamber too small on the p182? My psu fits there just fine and the drive cage in the lower chamber holds 3 drives and the middle cage holds 3.
10 internal 3.5" bays (3 rear, 7 front) with 5 120mm fans directly in-line with the drives (6 120mm total). Including the fact it's a Lian Li, I wouldn't hessitate to pick it put for your usage.

I prefer simple designs. Feature-wise, yes, it's very good. But I jus't don't like the look of a case which is designed to look "cool" for gamers.

So you no longer have Thermaltake Armor. What do you have now?
Btw, believe it or not, I did not know about stuff like iCage. I had only heard of cheap brackets to convert 5.25" to 3.5". Thus, I was solely looking for cases with min. of 6 internal 3.5" drive bays.

Some say that the lower fan is too close both to the PSU and the hard drive cage making cable routing very difficult.
How come you have 3 drives in the middle cage? Isn't it for 2 3.5" drives?
wow wtf do u use your computer for.... u have an amazing pc but **** graphics card lol... wait for the 9600 at least.
anyways i suggest the Liani li-v2000
or thermaltake armor, or coolermaster stacker 830 evo
well, it will mainly be used for everything, but gaming I'll use it for web server, file server and running multiple virtual machines. Would you still recommend the 9600? (I might play a game or two, so I can pay little more for a better video card)
there is nothing better than thermaltake armor..i own one and its the best case i ever bought...its quiet and has a very good cooling..it has big fan in the front, big one in the back, one at the top, one next to the powersupply and one on the side...that side fan is 25cm.
I'll second that. I just moved everything from an old Raidmax $50 case that I'd bought for a P4 Northwood in 2004 to an Antec Nine Hundred from Newegg. It has enough room for a 3870x2 and I really liked the front removable drive bays! Currently, because of the size of the card, all three sata drives are in the lower bay, but I could accomodate two more in the upper without any issues.
The Nine Hundred is the best case I've ever owned. The only quirk is the Antec Neo 650 at the bottom and having to snake the power cables over the graphics card. It's silent and cool, even when gaming. If he doesn't game, he might not like the blue lights on the fans, or the side window, but it's a great gaming case.

100 gig WD sata
100 gig WD ide with sata adapter
Memorex DVD R/RW
Antec Neo 650 psu
Antec Nine Hundred case

Yes, I know, I need a faster CPU and a new LCD monitor. Right now, I'm cpu limited in some games. More upgrades soon.
